Time flies by when you're having fun...right?! Well there must have been some fun going on in my life then. So here's the condensed version of the Bradley post-holiday wrap-up...
Thanksgiving at our house was great! Plenty of food, no disasters...and we found seats for everyone. Christmas was nice this year too, with my first 4-day Christmas holiday actually on Christmas as a nurse! So nice to have off with everyone else, instead of working a 12 hour shift!
Warren & I also celebrated our first anniversary of marriage. What a year this has been... Getting married, new house, new jobs for BOTH of us all in the first 6 months of our marriage. We are very blessed to have each other and I can't imagine spending this life with anyone else.
We DID remember to eat the top layer of our cake. Even if we remembered at oh like 9:00 that night! (There's a method to thawing it out--which of course we could not follow!!) It was important to me to take on the sacred tradition of eating the cake on our 1st anniversary.
After our wedding I made sure that cake was fully dressed to the max in a freezer friendly fashion that would last one year. I took it out of one freezer and drove it in the front seat of my car & immediately placed it in our new freezer when we moved to our new house. It took up a huge chunk of the bottom shelf of the freezer during its year long stay. I prepared to eat that cake on our 1-year anniversary & I FORGOT to thaw it!!!!
Despite the last minute unpreparedness, the cake was still DELICIOUS! (Our friends Kim & Ward even had a slice a few days later!) I wish I had a "before" picture to show you how it came out of the freezer, but nonetheless here it is in all it's glory, cake topper & all!
We spent New Years Eve with our best of friends, aka "the posse" (to be explained in more detail later) and had a GREAT time... and I got to introduce them to the honey-butter-chicken biscuit from Whataburger at 2 a.m..... they truly are the best friends!
Which leads me to the recent Valentine's Day, where Warren & I spent a relaxing evening at home like an old married couple. No fancy dinner needed in this marriage. Ha!
So now, that I have finished "catching up"... I hope to keep this blog up-to-date in the future... as I am inspired by the blogs that I read from others!
